Narrative:

We were cleared into position to hold for takeoff on runway 14 at srq. Just prior to that time the tower had cleared a bonanza for a touch-and-go. Before taking the runway I asked the copilot if he saw anyone on final for runway 14, because I did not see anyone. He said no, and mentioned that the bonanza must be on runway 4. We held in position about seconds in order for a departing cessna to turn south. The tower said that the cessna was in his turn and we were cleared for takeoff on runway 14. I saw an aircraft on what appeared to be a base turn for runway 4, and I assumed that it was the bonanza. On takeoff roll, just as the copilot called vr, I saw a bonanza on runway 4 approaching the intersection of runway 14. I immediately pulled back on the yoke to start a rapid climb to keep from hitting the other aircraft. We went over the top of the bonanza by maybe 10 ft.

Title: OPERROR LTSS NMAC WHEN AN ACR MD88 DEPARTING RWY 14 CROSSES OVER A BE35 ON RWY 4 LNDG ROLL AT THE INTXN OF THE 2 RWYS.

Narrative: WE WERE CLRED INTO POS TO HOLD FOR TKOF ON RWY 14 AT SRQ. JUST PRIOR TO THAT TIME THE TWR HAD CLRED A BONANZA FOR A TOUCH-AND-GO. BEFORE TAKING THE RWY I ASKED THE COPLT IF HE SAW ANYONE ON FINAL FOR RWY 14, BECAUSE I DID NOT SEE ANYONE. HE SAID NO, AND MENTIONED THAT THE BONANZA MUST BE ON RWY 4. WE HELD IN POS ABOUT SECONDS IN ORDER FOR A DEPARTING CESSNA TO TURN S. THE TWR SAID THAT THE CESSNA WAS IN HIS TURN AND WE WERE CLRED FOR TKOF ON RWY 14. I SAW AN ACFT ON WHAT APPEARED TO BE A BASE TURN FOR RWY 4, AND I ASSUMED THAT IT WAS THE BONANZA. ON TKOF ROLL, JUST AS THE COPLT CALLED VR, I SAW A BONANZA ON RWY 4 APCHING THE INTXN OF RWY 14. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED BACK ON THE YOKE TO START A RAPID CLB TO KEEP FROM HITTING THE OTHER ACFT. WE WENT OVER THE TOP OF THE BONANZA BY MAYBE 10 FT.
