Narrative:
I was harassed while taxiing by ATC on an uncontrolled ramp for no apparent reason. The controller threatened to 'write me up' for not repeating the runway I was cleared to when I technically never needed to call him in the first place. Besides, he was wrong, I did repeat the runway number I had been cleared to. He yelled into the microphone, was indignant and rattled me while I was trying to familiarize myself with an aircraft that I had never flown before. I demanded that the tape be pulled and I am filing a formal complaint. You should review this tape. In 30 yrs of flying I have never had a confrontation like this. It truly affected the safe operation of my aircraft and I have 4000 hours. I wonder how it might have affected one of my students with only a hundred hours or so, or even worse only 20 hours or so. You need to hear the tape. It's incredible.

Narrative: I WAS HARASSED WHILE TAXIING BY ATC ON AN UNCTLED RAMP FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THE CTLR THREATENED TO 'WRITE ME UP' FOR NOT REPEATING THE RWY I WAS CLRED TO WHEN I TECHNICALLY NEVER NEEDED TO CALL HIM IN THE FIRST PLACE. BESIDES, HE WAS WRONG, I DID REPEAT THE RWY NUMBER I HAD BEEN CLRED TO. HE YELLED INTO THE MIKE, WAS INDIGNANT AND RATTLED ME WHILE I WAS TRYING TO FAMILIARIZE MYSELF WITH AN ACFT THAT I HAD NEVER FLOWN BEFORE. I DEMANDED THAT THE TAPE BE PULLED AND I AM FILING A FORMAL COMPLAINT. YOU SHOULD REVIEW THIS TAPE. IN 30 YRS OF FLYING I HAVE NEVER HAD A CONFRONTATION LIKE THIS.
