Descending for approach into jfk, flight attendant informed cockpit crew of passenger illness. Flight attendant made call for doctor. Medical doctor on board requested paramedics and stated passenger 'looks in bad shape.' medical emergency declared. ATC expedited flight to gate. Passenger received oxygen from flight attendant and walked off aircraft unassisted.
