Narrative:
While completing an engine change on aircraft on oct/xx/97, I closed up the right wing overwing exit hatch. I took a look out the wing and verified all panels were in place. The aircraft subsequently departed ZZZ and the panel in question, r-hand engine rig pin access panel departed the aircraft. I had been working relatively non stop since XA00 in the morning on this aircraft engine change. We were all trying to complete the job and make a XB00 etr. Rushing and not taking enough breaks from the job and the heat played a large part in this occurrence.
