Narrative:
ATC facility: stl approach. Location: over runway 12L OM. Being vectored for runway 12L visual. Cleared for the visual to runway 12L at 4000 ft. We were too close to final centerline and too high to accept, so we requested a right 360 degree turn. Approach told us to make a left 360 degree turn, so we did. In turn, encountered a DC9 for runway 12R. Had him in sight but was concerned about separation. The left 360 degree turn took us well through the runway 12L and runway 12R centerline. Supplemental information from acn 382934: called and spoke to stl approach supervisor about my concerns. He said he would look into it.

Narrative: ATC FACILITY: STL APCH. LOCATION: OVER RWY 12L OM. BEING VECTORED FOR RWY 12L VISUAL. CLRED FOR THE VISUAL TO RWY 12L AT 4000 FT. WE WERE TOO CLOSE TO FINAL CTRLINE AND TOO HIGH TO ACCEPT, SO WE REQUESTED A R 360 DEG TURN. APCH TOLD US TO MAKE A L 360 DEG TURN, SO WE DID. IN TURN, ENCOUNTERED A DC9 FOR RWY 12R. HAD HIM IN SIGHT BUT WAS CONCERNED ABOUT SEPARATION. THE L 360 DEG TURN TOOK US WELL THROUGH THE RWY 12L AND RWY 12R CTRLINE.
