Narrative:
While being vectored for an approach to runway 26 at iah, we reported airport in sight and received clearance for a visual approach to runway 26. We were established on the base when cleared for a visual to runway 26. As I was flying, I either looked at the wrong runway or delayed my turn too long and overshot the extended final to runway 26. As there is a runway 27 to the south, I looked for traffic on that runway and observed none. I did not fly any final for that runway but made a continuous right turn back for runway 26. In looking back, I can't say if I was distracted or observed the wrong runway or what. It had been a long day which may have contributed somewhat, but I just need to be more vigilant. The flight landed without incident and nothing was said. No traffic observed either.
