Narrative:
First flight after captain's windshield change. Immediately after takeoff very loud noises heard from area around left windshield panel. Noise sounded like something tearing then loud slapping and pounding noises against roof and sides of cockpit. Maintenance contacted via radio and advised us that mylar tape was probably peeling off new windshield and that it should be safe to continue flight to lax. Upon arrival in lax it was found that sealant around windshield was not cured and large chunks had peeled off with tape. Logbook entry made and lax maintenance planned to inspect engines for foreign object damage.
