Narrative:

On final for sonoma valley airport, another aircraft was flying a straight in approach to runway 17. As our aiming point appeared to be getting further away, I added some power as did he. I felt a bit of a sinker and then snagged the wire. Broke through the wire. Cosmetic damage to left gear, left lift strut and windshield. The landing was made on the airport and we taxied to assess the condition. Aircraft damage - - scratched left main lift strut. Leading edge of right landing gear scuffed and abrasions on windshield. Aircraft was removed from the normal hangar to another at petaluma (flown) for painting, etc. Damage on the ground was limited to 3 broken wires which were spliced the same day. Pg&east were notified the following morning (monday) as was the FAA.
