Narrative:
#1 center hydraulic pump failed and was noticed on the after start checklist. Read the MEL to the captain and he decided to continue, against FAA and company procedure. Instructed me to write it in the logbook that it happened in-flight. Poor CRM by the captain -- never consulted the first officer or international relief officer on any matters.
