Narrative:
ATC facility: rdu approach. Location: approximately 6 NM northeast of prstn intersection ILS runway 23R, rdu. In the terminal area approach control issued vector 270 degrees. About 5-6 NM northeast of prstn at 5000 ft approach issued descent to 3000 ft. Autothrottle/autoplt system disconnected. TCASII issued a descent of 1200-1400 FPM. First officer responded to the RA. The aircraft passed within 200 ft vertical separation. The controller was alerted to the incident. The controller advised the aircraft was in radar contact when questioned about near miss. Shortly after the incident we were cleared for a visual approach to runway 23L. VFR condition existed at the time of the incident.

Narrative: ATC FACILITY: RDU APCH. LOCATION: APPROX 6 NM NE OF PRSTN INTXN ILS RWY 23R, RDU. IN THE TERMINAL AREA APCH CTL ISSUED VECTOR 270 DEGS.
