Narrative:

On nov/xx/97 I was asked to go on a field service to ZZZ. I departed xyz at XA00 after working the night before. Prior to arriving in ZZZ, I ran out of time. Per air carrier maintenance manual you cannot exceed 16 hours of service in a 24 hour period. As I said, prior to my arrival in ZZZ, I ran out of time and went off the clock. Prior to working on the aircraft in ZZZ I had 7 1/2 hours rest, which is required per air carrier and the contract. The reason for this form is one of my fellow mechanics assumed that I worked past 16 hours and called the FAA. I am filling this form out as a precautionary measure. I still feel I did nothing wrong.
