Narrative:
We were assigned heading to intercept col 350 degree radial. We went through radial 5-10 degrees, which was noticed and corrected by departure control. I got too far ahead of the aircraft as I was programming a NAVAID for use further on down the route at the expense of proper attention to the present navigation situation. I need to emphasize situational awareness.

Title: AN ACR MLG FLC OVERSHOT THE RADIAL THAT THEY WERE TO INTERCEPT. THE ARTCC CTLR SAW THE ERROR AND TOLD THEM TO GO DIRECT TO THE VOR.
