Narrative:
Landed runway 25R las. Cleared to taxi on taxiway B to hold short of runway 19R. Before reaching boards and barricades seeming to mark runway 19, cleared to taxi across, turn right on taxiway F, taxi via taxiway F to FBO. Runways and txwys marked by temporary signage. Started to turn right onto taxiway F, then noted it was, though not marked, a runway. Turned back to taxiway to taxiway F. Ground controller noted s-turns, authority/authorized 'a short 180 degree turn back to the taxiway,' but we had not really transgressed runway boundaries. Until construction is totally finished, las needs to mark runways and txwys in a thoroughly unambiguous fashion. We are a low cockpit bizjet so couldn't see the airport ground pattern by looking down from an elevated greenhouse. This signage/ground pattern confusion must be really intense for airplanes with even lower pilot eye level such as mooneys and comanchees. Even as we were taxiing into the ramp, ground personnel were changing some designator signs on taxiway F.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: WHILE TAXIING TO FBO, CPR FLC INADVERTENTLY TURNS ONTO RWY ACCESS, MISSING TXWY. TWR GND CTLR CLRS ACFT TO MAKE 180 DEG TURN TO RELOCATE TXWY. RPTR STATES TEMPORARY SIGNAGE NOT CLR VISIBLE FROM COCKPIT.
Narrative: LANDED RWY 25R LAS. CLRED TO TAXI ON TXWY B TO HOLD SHORT OF RWY 19R. BEFORE REACHING BOARDS AND BARRICADES SEEMING TO MARK RWY 19, CLRED TO TAXI ACROSS, TURN R ON TXWY F, TAXI VIA TXWY F TO FBO. RWYS AND TXWYS MARKED BY TEMPORARY SIGNAGE. STARTED TO TURN R ONTO TXWY F, THEN NOTED IT WAS, THOUGH NOT MARKED, A RWY. TURNED BACK TO TXWY TO TXWY F. GND CTLR NOTED S-TURNS, AUTH 'A SHORT 180 DEG TURN BACK TO THE TXWY,' BUT WE HAD NOT REALLY TRANSGRESSED RWY BOUNDARIES. UNTIL CONSTRUCTION IS TOTALLY FINISHED, LAS NEEDS TO MARK RWYS AND TXWYS IN A THOROUGHLY UNAMBIGUOUS FASHION. WE ARE A LOW COCKPIT BIZJET SO COULDN'T SEE THE ARPT GND PATTERN BY LOOKING DOWN FROM AN ELEVATED GREENHOUSE. THIS SIGNAGE/GND PATTERN CONFUSION MUST BE REALLY INTENSE FOR AIRPLANES WITH EVEN LOWER PLT EYE LEVEL SUCH AS MOONEYS AND COMANCHEES. EVEN AS WE WERE TAXIING INTO THE RAMP, GND PERSONNEL WERE CHANGING SOME DESIGNATOR SIGNS ON TXWY F.
