Narrative:
While on approach to iah I noted a power loss on the #1 engine. I called for the engine flameout checklist. It appeared to restart. The torque then dropped to zero and the nh was decreasing. I then called for the engine fire/failure checklist and the engine was secured. While I continued the approach, the first officer completed the QRH items. I notified ATC, the flight attendant, and the passenger of the engine shutdown. The aircraft was landed and the passenger deplaned without incident.
