Narrative:
At gate prior to pushback the first flight attendant entered the cockpit with 3 glasses of orange juice served to the captain, first officer and jump seat rider. Upon tasting the orange juice I noticed it tasted odd sort of like the orange juice that comes out of a can (not very fresh). A few mins later another flight attendant runs into the cockpit saying that one of the orange juices was a 'mimosa' (containing champagne). We immediately notified the duty flight attendant and crew scheduling. No reserve pilots available, trip was canceled. Luckily the flight attendants noticed the mishap and disclosed it to us, otherwise the only way we would have possibly found out would be by a random alcohol test. I can only imagine the consequences to my career and personal life had I been 'busted' for something I never did.
