Narrative:

Our flight was in an oversell situation and the gate agent was removing 2 passenger, mr X and ms X. Ms X placed her carry-on wheels against the aisle wall and propped them up with another of her bags. I was delivering predep drinks when ms X moved her bag and the wheels crashed over on top of my left foot. They hit my big toe, the top of my foot and the inside bone of my left ankle. Flight attendant #3 was standing at the forward compartment closet and heard the bang and saw the wheels on my foot and the pained look on my face. Ms Y witnessed the entire incident as she was sitting directly next to where I was standing when the wheels fell. We closed the aircraft door and took off. After takeoff, I took 800 milligrams of ibuprofen because my ankle was beginning to throb. I proceeded with my in-flight service in forward compartment and noticed my ankle was continuing to ache and throb. I was having trouble walking without pain. My ankle was red (on the bone area) with some swelling. The #3 flight attendant did my dessert service while I elevated and iced my ankle. I then informed captain of the incident/details and he radioed ahead to have me removed from the trip in dfw. Upon arrival in dfw I was met by agent from flight service and escorted to medical. As to preventing any recurrence, unless the FAA deems to cancel all carry-on luggage to be brought aboard, there really is no preventive action that can be taken. We can't tell passenger to not bring on roller-cart wheels for their carry-on, now can we?
