Narrative:
We flew flight from sfo to ord. The WX was 2400 ft RVR in blowing snow. On taxi in we were assigned to gate and proceeded to taxi in. Just short of the gate, I told the captain that a deice truck between the 2 gates looked close. I called ramp to have someone check on or move the vehicle. They said stand by. Very soon after that radio call, a person in a yellow slicker came out to the truck. 2 individuals were there and they gave us a thumbs up to indicate we had clearance. A tug was parked next to the truck and was behind the line. The accu-park lights were on, and we taxied in slowly. About 10 ft short of the gate I felt a slight bump. The mechanic gave the stop signal and I called 'stop' to the captain. He stopped the aircraft. Soon after, the mechanic called to tell us to shut down the engines, stating we had struck the truck. The left outboard slat was damaged. We were pushed clear of the truck, it was moved, and we were tugged to the gate. The deice truck was in a marked parking spot, but one for low vehicles.
