Narrative:
As first officer flying, I was on landing rollout on runway 10 at about 80 KTS. Bwi tower cleared another air carrier B737 for takeoff on a crossing runway, runway 15R. We were approaching the runway 15R intersection with runway 10. The captain assumed aircraft control and immediately initiated maximum antiskid braking as we stopped short of the runway 10, runway 15R intersection. We informed tower of our stopping short of the intersection by radio as neither the other aircraft nor tower were visible due to the low WX visibility. Tower then canceled takeoff clearance of the other aircraft. We taxied clear of runway 10 at intersection east after the other aircraft acknowledged takeoff clearance canceled. (We were not advised to land and hold short by tower and the ATIS did not indicate land and hold short operations were in effect.)
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: FO OF A B737 DURING LNDG ROLL HEARD TWR CLR ANOTHER B737 FOR TKOF ON AN INTERSECTING RWY RESULTING IN THE CAPT TAKING OVER CTL OF THE ACFT AND APPLYING MAX BRAKING ACTION TO STOP PRIOR TO THE INTXN. TWR CANCELED TKOF CLRNC AND RPTR TAXIED OFF RWY BEYOND THE INTERSECTING RWYS AFTER HEARING THAT THE OTHER ACFT ACKNOWLEDGE THAT TKOF CLRNC WAS CANCELED.
Narrative: AS FO FLYING, I WAS ON LNDG ROLLOUT ON RWY 10 AT ABOUT 80 KTS. BWI TWR CLRED ANOTHER ACR B737 FOR TKOF ON A XING RWY, RWY 15R. WE WERE APCHING THE RWY 15R INTXN WITH RWY 10. THE CAPT ASSUMED ACFT CTL AND IMMEDIATELY INITIATED MAX ANTISKID BRAKING AS WE STOPPED SHORT OF THE RWY 10, RWY 15R INTXN. WE INFORMED TWR OF OUR STOPPING SHORT OF THE INTXN BY RADIO AS NEITHER THE OTHER ACFT NOR TWR WERE VISIBLE DUE TO THE LOW WX VISIBILITY. TWR THEN CANCELED TKOF CLRNC OF THE OTHER ACFT. WE TAXIED CLR OF RWY 10 AT INTXN E AFTER THE OTHER ACFT ACKNOWLEDGED TKOF CLRNC CANCELED. (WE WERE NOT ADVISED TO LAND AND HOLD SHORT BY TWR AND THE ATIS DID NOT INDICATE LAND AND HOLD SHORT OPS WERE IN EFFECT.)
