Narrative:

On a vector to intercept localizer approach cleared us for the approach. We neglected to arm the localizer and did not catch it until past the localizer. Immediately corrected back toward localizer then ATC gave us a heading to intercept the localizer. They gave us the same heading as we had turned to so we intercepted and shot the approach normally. Contributing factors were, late assignment of runway, extra approach briefing time as WX was very close to minimums, and last, but not least, getting up to start trip at XX30 home base time left us both feeling tired and fatigued.
