Narrative:
Cleared to land runway 22R at ord, full length available, commuter traffic landing runway 27R will hold short. We cleared at the high speed and were given an expedited taxi clearance, I thought, to cross runway 27R since the commuter appeared to be clearing at the north/south taxiway. Controller said we were told to hold short runway 27R but we never heard that and did not acknowledge a hold short clearance. Probable blocked transmission from other traffic or possibly our own readback.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: FLC OF A SUPER MD80 FAILED TO HOLD SHORT OF AN INTERSECTING RWY ON WHICH A COMMUTER ACFT HAD JUST LANDED, AND WAS ROLLING OUT, DURING TAXI TO PARKING. THE RPTRS HAD NOT UNDERSTOOD THAT THEY WERE TO HOLD SHORT AND THE TWR DID NOT HEAR TAXI INSTRUCTIONS READBACK.
Narrative: CLRED TO LAND RWY 22R AT ORD, FULL LENGTH AVAILABLE, COMMUTER TFC LNDG RWY 27R WILL HOLD SHORT. WE CLRED AT THE HIGH SPD AND WERE GIVEN AN EXPEDITED TAXI CLRNC, I THOUGHT, TO CROSS RWY 27R SINCE THE COMMUTER APPEARED TO BE CLRING AT THE N/S TXWY. CTLR SAID WE WERE TOLD TO HOLD SHORT RWY 27R BUT WE NEVER HEARD THAT AND DID NOT ACKNOWLEDGE A HOLD SHORT CLRNC. PROBABLE BLOCKED XMISSION FROM OTHER TFC OR POSSIBLY OUR OWN READBACK.
