Narrative:

Nose gear did not retract. Returned to cvg. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the aircraft was a canadair CL65 regional jet and the mechanics found the nose gear shock strut needed service with oil and nitrogen to the correct level. The reporter said this airplane had a chronic problem with the nose gear and much work was accomplished to correct the problems. The reporter stated that no details on the corrective action were available from maintenance.

Title: A CANADAIR CL65 IMMEDIATELY AFTER TKOF DIVERTED DUE TO UNABLE TO RETRACT THE NOSE LNDG GEAR CAUSED BY AN IMPROPERLY SVCED NOSE GEAR SHOCK STRUT.

Narrative: NOSE GEAR DID NOT RETRACT. RETURNED TO CVG. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: THE RPTR STATED THE ACFT WAS A CANADAIR CL65 REGIONAL JET AND THE MECHS FOUND THE NOSE GEAR SHOCK STRUT NEEDED SVC WITH OIL AND NITROGEN TO THE CORRECT LEVEL. THE RPTR SAID THIS AIRPLANE HAD A CHRONIC PROB WITH THE NOSE GEAR AND MUCH WORK WAS ACCOMPLISHED TO CORRECT THE PROBS. THE RPTR STATED THAT NO DETAILS ON THE CORRECTIVE ACTION WERE AVAILABLE FROM MAINT.
