Narrative:
Got talked into a visual approach due to a rapid fire controller, and misunderstanding by copilot, to runway 16L to follow an aircraft on runway 16R approach (no navaids, just visual on runway 16L). Controller also kept referencing landmarks we were unfamiliar with. In process, we encountered continuous light chop due to wake turbulence of leading aircraft. Then at 2500 ft AGL, we got a TCASII RA due to aircraft 300+ ft above and behind us who we assumed was the traffic on base that was supposed to follow us, only green band was 2000 FPM down. Responded even though we had leveled off to intercept the visual GS. Then as we were rolling down the runway, well above taxi speed, tower is telling us what intersection to taxi off. Talked to TRACON on ground and they told me they were under extreme pressure to increase capacity and that they 'will do everything legal' to attain it. It's an unsafe operation that will lead to an accident.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A B727 PIC COMPLAINS OF ATC HANDLING AND AN 'EXPEDITED' APCH USING VISUALS INTO SEA ARPT. THE PROC CREATED A POTENTIAL CONFLICT SIT AND A DEV FROM DESIRED DSCNT PATH.
Narrative: GOT TALKED INTO A VISUAL APCH DUE TO A RAPID FIRE CTLR, AND MISUNDERSTANDING BY COPLT, TO RWY 16L TO FOLLOW AN ACFT ON RWY 16R APCH (NO NAVAIDS, JUST VISUAL ON RWY 16L). CTLR ALSO KEPT REFING LANDMARKS WE WERE UNFAMILIAR WITH. IN PROCESS, WE ENCOUNTERED CONTINUOUS LIGHT CHOP DUE TO WAKE TURB OF LEADING ACFT. THEN AT 2500 FT AGL, WE GOT A TCASII RA DUE TO ACFT 300+ FT ABOVE AND BEHIND US WHO WE ASSUMED WAS THE TFC ON BASE THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO FOLLOW US, ONLY GREEN BAND WAS 2000 FPM DOWN. RESPONDED EVEN THOUGH WE HAD LEVELED OFF TO INTERCEPT THE VISUAL GS. THEN AS WE WERE ROLLING DOWN THE RWY, WELL ABOVE TAXI SPD, TWR IS TELLING US WHAT INTXN TO TAXI OFF. TALKED TO TRACON ON GND AND THEY TOLD ME THEY WERE UNDER EXTREME PRESSURE TO INCREASE CAPACITY AND THAT THEY 'WILL DO EVERYTHING LEGAL' TO ATTAIN IT. IT'S AN UNSAFE OP THAT WILL LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT.
