Narrative:
On approach to runway 36R in clt, as flaps were extended, amber leading edge intransit light on forward panel remained illuminated and overhead panel #3 leading edge flaps amber light illuminated when flaps selected to 1 degree, 5 degrees, and 10 degrees. Declared emergency as 15 degree flap landing was required/requested longer runway 36L. After 5 mins, all indications became normal and deadheading crew member confirmed slats were extended and all looked normal. We canceled the emergency and made normal 30 degree flap landing.

Title: FLC OF A B737-300 DECLARED AN EMER DURING APCH. WHEN LOWERING THE WING FLAP SLATS THE SLAT EXTENSION WARNING INDICATIONS ILLUMINATED. IN A FEW MINS THE SLAT LIGHTS WENT OUT AND A VISUAL CHK OF THE SLATS INDICATED THAT THEY WERE WORKING PROPERLY. THE EMER WAS CANCELED AND A NORMAL LNDG WAS MADE.

DECLARED EMER AS 15 DEG FLAP LNDG WAS REQUIRED/REQUESTED LONGER RWY 36L. AFTER 5 MINS, ALL INDICATIONS BECAME NORMAL AND DEADHEADING CREW MEMBER CONFIRMED SLATS WERE EXTENDED AND ALL LOOKED NORMAL. WE CANCELED THE EMER AND MADE NORMAL 30 DEG FLAP LNDG.
