Narrative:
The WX in pir was reported as 1/8 mi visibility. ZMP asked what approach I would like. I requested ILS runway 31 pir. The WX all around pir was clear and VFR. I called huron FSS and requested the current WX at pir. They reported 1/8 mi visibility. I commented on 'it looks like I can get the visual for pir.' it was clear all around pir, and looked like the fog started at the airport. I started the approach which is the event/situation in question. At decision ht, I saw the approach lights (rabbit lights). I processed to descent another 100 ft and saw the green threshold lights and processed to land. I reported to center that I was on the ground and canceled IFR. I also reported visibility and ceiling, tops, and negative icing and taxied in to parking. I did not agree with the current WX report at pir at the time of the approach.

Title: PA31-350 ATX FRT ACFT PLT RPTR MAKES APCH IN RPTED BELOW MINIMUM VISIBILITY. RPTR SAYS ARPT WAS VFR AND THE WX RPT WAS IN ERROR.
Narrative: THE WX IN PIR WAS RPTED AS 1/8 MI VISIBILITY. ZMP ASKED WHAT APCH I WOULD LIKE. I REQUESTED ILS RWY 31 PIR. THE WX ALL AROUND PIR WAS CLR AND VFR. I CALLED HURON FSS AND REQUESTED THE CURRENT WX AT PIR. THEY RPTED 1/8 MI VISIBILITY. I COMMENTED ON 'IT LOOKS LIKE I CAN GET THE VISUAL FOR PIR.' IT WAS CLR ALL AROUND PIR, AND LOOKED LIKE THE FOG STARTED AT THE ARPT. I STARTED THE APCH WHICH IS THE EVENT/SIT IN QUESTION. AT DECISION HT, I SAW THE APCH LIGHTS (RABBIT LIGHTS). I PROCESSED TO DSCNT ANOTHER 100 FT AND SAW THE GREEN THRESHOLD LIGHTS AND PROCESSED TO LAND. I RPTED TO CTR THAT I WAS ON THE GND AND CANCELED IFR. I ALSO RPTED VISIBILITY AND CEILING, TOPS, AND NEGATIVE ICING AND TAXIED IN TO PARKING. I DID NOT AGREE WITH THE CURRENT WX RPT AT PIR AT THE TIME OF THE APCH.
