Narrative:

This event happened to myself and another pilot on feb/mon/98, at illinois valley regional airport. The aircraft we were flying was an arctic tern and we landed on runway 36. We started to taxi in and the right landing gear collapsed which caused damage to the propeller and also the left landing gear. The aircraft was then towed to the ramp where the plane was inspected by a local mechanic. The mechanic stated that there was a little corrosion on a bracket that was attached to the landing gear. This may have lead to the aircraft being damaged but I feel that I should have inspected the plane more thoroughly. The landing was also pretty hard which could have also contributed to this event.

Title: A CFI LOSES CTL OF HIS ACFT WHILE TAXIING IN TO THE RAMP AFTER A HARD LNDG. THE R GEAR COLLAPSED. A POSTFLT INSPECTION REVEALED SOME CORROSION ON THE R GEAR'S SUPPORT BRACKET.

Narrative: THIS EVENT HAPPENED TO MYSELF AND ANOTHER PLT ON FEB/MON/98, AT ILLINOIS VALLEY REGIONAL ARPT. THE ACFT WE WERE FLYING WAS AN ARCTIC TERN AND WE LANDED ON RWY 36. WE STARTED TO TAXI IN AND THE R LNDG GEAR COLLAPSED WHICH CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE PROP AND ALSO THE L LNDG GEAR. THE ACFT WAS THEN TOWED TO THE RAMP WHERE THE PLANE WAS INSPECTED BY A LCL MECH. THE MECH STATED THAT THERE WAS A LITTLE CORROSION ON A BRACKET THAT WAS ATTACHED TO THE LNDG GEAR. THIS MAY HAVE LEAD TO THE ACFT BEING DAMAGED BUT I FEEL THAT I SHOULD HAVE INSPECTED THE PLANE MORE THOROUGHLY. THE LNDG WAS ALSO PRETTY HARD WHICH COULD HAVE ALSO CONTRIBUTED TO THIS EVENT.
