Narrative:
I am unsure if this event constitutes a rejected takeoff, however during initial spool-up the takeoff warning horn sounded under normal conditions, ie, flaps 5 degrees -- green led light, speed brake -- done detent, stabilizer trim -- 4.4 (green band). The roll never reached 25 KTS, and have taxied faster than this when clear of runway. First officer actuated stabilizer trim wheel 1/2 to 3/4 of turn aft (nose up). Throttles moved forward, but EPR 1.25 EPR. Aircraft returned to gate and wrote up takeoff warning horn. First officer made brief announcement. Deduced later that horn responds to EPR, not position making maintenance write-up sketchy, and also making it sound like trim was out of green band. It was not.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: CAPT OF A B737-200 REJECTED TKOF DUE TO TKOF WARNING HORN DURING INITIAL TKOF ROLL RESULTING IN ACFT RETURNED TO THE GATE AND INCIDENT WRITTEN UP IN THE ACFT LOG. CAPT IS CONCERNED THAT THE FO'S WRITE-UP MAY HAVE BEEN MISLEADING TO THE POINT THAT OTHERS MAY BELIEVE THAT THE ELEVATOR TRIM SETTING MAY HAVE BEEN INCORRECT CAUSING THE WARNING.

ACFT RETURNED TO GATE AND WROTE UP TKOF WARNING HORN. FO MADE BRIEF ANNOUNCEMENT. DEDUCED LATER THAT HORN RESPONDS TO EPR, NOT POS MAKING MAINT WRITE-UP SKETCHY, AND ALSO MAKING IT SOUND LIKE TRIM WAS OUT OF GREEN BAND. IT WAS NOT.
