Narrative:
I was working local control at bna tower on the morning of mar/xa/98. An air carrier MD88 called inbound on the ILS for runway 2L. The conditions at the time were low overcast with light snow and rain mixed. I cleared him to land and as he was exiting the runway to taxi to the ramp his nosewheel slipped off the pavement and got stuck in the mud. I never received a braking action report at all, much less a report of less than good. Supplemental information from acn 395371: after normal approach and landing runway 2L bna we had slowed to normal taxi speed. As we approached the taxiway for turning off the runway we lost nosewheel steering and all braking due to ice on the painted surface of the runway. The aircraft nosewheel left the asphalt while both mains remained on the taxiway. We notified ATC and briefed the flight attendants of our situation. We deplaned the passenger using the aft airstairs after assistance and busses arrived.
