Narrative:
We were given a crossing altitude of FL290 at scole intersection approaching phx on the arlin arrival. Due to cockpit distrs with flight attendant questions and company radio call we delayed our descent too long. We asked for and received clearance to have crossing restr lifted. We were told by ZAB that 'it isn't a problem' and 'not to worry about it.' due to the emphasis on crossing altitudes, I am submitting this report.

Title: FLC OF AN MLG FAILED TO START DSCNT IN TIME TO MAKE XING ALT DUE TO CABIN ATTENDANT CONVERSATION DISTR. FLC REQUESTED RELIEF FROM THE RESTR TO ATC WHICH WAS GIVEN.
