Narrative:

A convair 58 was instructed to execute a missed approach procedure to avoid an 'overtake' situation. The CV58, on a visual approach, was first observed 4 mi out descending out of 2500 ft, still not in radio contact. The convair was obviously not going to be able to follow a single-engine cessna on 1 mi final to the same runway. Radio contact was established with the convair, and subsequently the missed approach procedure was initiated.
