Narrative:
A map change date occurred feb/xx/98. On my return to duty on mar/tue/98, I noticed several critical maps had not been changed. As the entire jet route structure had been changed over dfw on feb/xx/98, this is vital. I filed a ucr, and 2 days later, just 2 of 5 maps have been changed. A quick check of addition areas located numerous other out of date maps. A check of the area storage bin failed to locate any current pubs or maps. Checking with staff, I found the cartographer position vacant, and that management had at least a month's warning of this situation. It is now many days after the changes, and still most maps are incorrect/out of date. Should our radar fail (this has happened), these incorrect maps are our only available reference. These maps do not match those pilots flying through the area are using.
