Narrative:

I landed an airplane with the landing gear up because I forgot to put the gear handle down. I improperly used the checklist, missing the landing gear part. Also, the landing gear handle is difficult to see because it is hidden by the flight yoke. That makes the airplane appear to be a fixed gear type. I will use a proper checklist for each different type of airplane to prevent from missing items on the checklist. I suggest all retractable type of airplanes should have at least a visual warning on the top part of the panel in conjunction with the audible warning.
