Narrative:
At iad we were cleared into position and hold for runway 19L. Then they cleared us for takeoff for the same runway. During climb out we were switched to departure without any comments from the tower or departure of taking off without a clearance. We were advised that the FAA is investigating the situation. Today (mar/thu/98) is the first notification we received in reference to this matter. I would have sent it earlier if I would have been advised earlier. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: analyst learned from the reporter that the flight crew were notified that they were not involved as the incident occurred a day earlier with the same flight.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ALLEGED INCIDENT OF A BA32 COMMUTER'S TKOF WITHOUT CLRNC.
Narrative: AT IAD WE WERE CLRED INTO POS AND HOLD FOR RWY 19L. THEN THEY CLRED US FOR TKOF FOR THE SAME RWY. DURING CLBOUT WE WERE SWITCHED TO DEP WITHOUT ANY COMMENTS FROM THE TWR OR DEP OF TAKING OFF WITHOUT A CLRNC. WE WERE ADVISED THAT THE FAA IS INVESTIGATING THE SIT. TODAY (MAR/THU/98) IS THE FIRST NOTIFICATION WE RECEIVED IN REF TO THIS MATTER. I WOULD HAVE SENT IT EARLIER IF I WOULD HAVE BEEN ADVISED EARLIER. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: ANALYST LEARNED FROM THE RPTR THAT THE FLC WERE NOTIFIED THAT THEY WERE NOT INVOLVED AS THE INCIDENT OCCURRED A DAY EARLIER WITH THE SAME FLT.
