Narrative:

B737 was climbing out of bur on a 255 degree heading, stopped at 5000 ft MSL for conflicting VFR traffic at 5500 ft. B737 spotted traffic and was turned to a 320 degree heading and climbed to 8000 ft. As pilot started turning and climbing, conflict alert activated with a VFR target, 12 O'clock, less than 1 mi, opposite direction. I issued a traffic alert. B737 said in sight and that it was a near miss. Pilot reported aircraft was a bonanza, who passed over the B737 by 100 ft. Target was intermittent on my scope, and did not appear until a moment before I issued traffic. Pilot reported the aircraft TCASII did not go off either. Target dropped off my scope again, and I never saw it again.
