Narrative:
We were towing a glider off of an inactive cross runway. We had done it off the same runway in the past, but some new hangars have been built screening the end of one of the runways. We were watching the traffic and using all the proper unicom calls, but we missed a (no radio) C172. I don't know if he even saw us. The tow plane went about 300 ft behind him. I was on the end of a 200 ft rope. In the future we will do all the glider operations the other way so we can never cross paths with another aircraft. We will continue to use unicom as an aid but never depend on other pilots using it.
