Narrative:

Descended from 4000 ft to 2800 ft. Visibility was +15 mi in all directions, except for a layer of scattered clouds on the lake michigan shoreline that I was above at the time. I had mwc in sight and so was given a visual approach. However, as I got through the scattered layer I saw a tv tower about 1/8 mi to my left. I turned and flew around it. The scattered layer on the shore blocked out the towers I knew were there. However, I came too close to the towers after clearing the clouds.
