Narrative:
I was training on radar talking with 15 aircraft, several being vectored on converging courses for approach, when the radios and landlines at radar south quit, backup transmitters did not work. I was able to regain radio communication shortly after at another radar position. I was told later that radar south 'shorts out every so often.'
