Narrative:
I was captain of air carrier airlines flight xyz and ZZZ on apr/xx/98, from cmh-dca-cmh, in a B737-300 aircraft. The aircraft had an inoperative #2 fuel quantity indicator and the appropriate MEL placard was installed. The MEL procedure required observation of tank dripping procedure to assure proper fuel load. All of this was done as required. A logbook entry was made for the fueling at cmh and dca, complying with the letter and intent of the MEL. However, there was a slight deviation in the text entered in the logbook, as prescribed by the MEL, and could be considered by some as a violation. (Such as an overzealous and aggressive poi.) pilot's group union officials advised me by telephone that a potential problem had occurred.
