Narrative:

At cruise altitude on ZME ATC asked for a 30 degree left turn off of J180 for traffic. Several mins later ATC asked for an additional 10 degree left. Moments later ATC asked if we were back on course. Our response was no. At that point we noticed that the first officer CDI was hanging up and then we realized we were right of course. At ATC request we turned left again. No traffic separation was lost according to ZME. Upon landing at iah the first officer CDI was replaced.
