Narrative:

While walking through the cabin, midway a sudden distinctive jolt occurred. By the time I got back to my phone to answer 2 chimes, I only heard that we were approximately 40 mi, 10 mins from landing and that we were going to prepare the cabin for landing immediately. The #4 flight attendant approached me and asked if I had heard all of the conversation. It was then that she told me that we had lost our left engine. There was no question of danger or that an emergency landing was going to be required. The pilots simply landed the plane. No announcement was made by the cockpit or flight crew as to any out-of-the-ordinary situation. However, 1 male passenger overheard #4 flight attendant say 'something about our engine' and asked me what had occurred. I told him that, 'yes, we lost our left engine, but that there was no danger.' we deplaned with no further incident.
