Narrative:
On apr/xx/98, at approximately XX45 am, we were transitioning from norfolk to oceana at 2500 ft and were apparently involved in a near miss, however, without seeing, hearing, or being asked to look out for another aircraft, we cannot confirm this occurrence.

Title: PLT OF AN SMA SEL HIGH WING ACFT WAS INFORMED BY ATC THAT HE WAS INVOLVED IN A NEAR MISS WITH ANOTHER ACFT WHILE TRANSITIONING FROM CLASS C AIRSPACE TO CLASS E AIRSPACE AT 2500 FT. SINCE THE RPTR DID NOT SEE THE OTHER ACFT HE DOES NOT KNOW HOW CLOSE OR WHAT TYPE THE OTHER ACFT MIGHT HAVE BEEN.
Narrative: ON APR/XX/98, AT APPROX XX45 AM, WE WERE TRANSITIONING FROM NORFOLK TO OCEANA AT 2500 FT AND WERE APPARENTLY INVOLVED IN A NEAR MISS, HOWEVER, WITHOUT SEEING, HEARING, OR BEING ASKED TO LOOK OUT FOR ANOTHER ACFT, WE CANNOT CONFIRM THIS OCCURRENCE.
