Narrative:
Circuit breaker popped on left AC bus -- reset once -- popped again -- pulled all 3 phases and tried to reset but couldn't. 'A' phase seemed broken or damaged. Diverted to detroit due to loss of radar and other instrument failures. Uneventful landing made, emergency terminated.

Title: AN ACR DC9 FLC HAD A CIRCUIT BREAKER FAILURE WHICH AFFECTED L AC BUS SUPPLY PWR TO THE RADAR AND OTHER SYS. THE FLC DECLARED AN EMER AND DIVERTED TO A NEARBY ARPT.
Narrative: CIRCUIT BREAKER POPPED ON L AC BUS -- RESET ONCE -- POPPED AGAIN -- PULLED ALL 3 PHASES AND TRIED TO RESET BUT COULDN'T. 'A' PHASE SEEMED BROKEN OR DAMAGED. DIVERTED TO DETROIT DUE TO LOSS OF RADAR AND OTHER INST FAILURES. UNEVENTFUL LNDG MADE, EMER TERMINATED.
