Narrative:
Descending, we were given a clearance to 8000 ft. We were quite busy with many and unfamiliar procedures for toronto. First officer, with 1 month experience with airline, set in 6000 ft inadvertently. I was doing something else and didn't confirm. Passing 7000 ft, controller cleared us to 6000 ft but told us we should have leveled at 8000 ft. Apologies and future care.

Narrative: DSNDING, WE WERE GIVEN A CLRNC TO 8000 FT. WE WERE QUITE BUSY WITH MANY AND UNFAMILIAR PROCS FOR TORONTO. FO, WITH 1 MONTH EXPERIENCE WITH AIRLINE, SET IN 6000 FT INADVERTENTLY.
