Narrative:

Flew a r-hand departure pattern off runway 12 at mia and headed west. Initially climbed steeply to try and get above any potential WX. Smooth and uneventful climb until approximately FL260. We were climbing to FL280, proceeding direct to lal VOR when a loud dull thud was heard in the cockpit. The captain's windshield had shattered. The left windshield heat caution came on at this time also. The windshield had shattered, but did not blow out, and no loss of cabin pressure occurred. We immediately accomplished emergency descent procedure to 10000 ft MSL. Upon further examination it appeared that the outer pane of the captain's windshield was shattered, and the inner one was still intact. At this time we made the decision to divert to mco. An uneventful approach and landing was made at mco.

Title: CL65 REGIONAL JET IN CLB CAPT'S WINDSHIELD OUTER PANE SHATTERED. NO LOSS OF PRESSURIZATION BUT FLC DID EMER DSCNT AND DIVERTED TO A CLOSE ARPT.

Narrative: FLEW A R-HAND DEP PATTERN OFF RWY 12 AT MIA AND HEADED W. INITIALLY CLBED STEEPLY TO TRY AND GET ABOVE ANY POTENTIAL WX. SMOOTH AND UNEVENTFUL CLB UNTIL APPROX FL260. WE WERE CLBING TO FL280, PROCEEDING DIRECT TO LAL VOR WHEN A LOUD DULL THUD WAS HEARD IN THE COCKPIT. THE CAPT'S WINDSHIELD HAD SHATTERED. THE L WINDSHIELD HEAT CAUTION CAME ON AT THIS TIME ALSO. THE WINDSHIELD HAD SHATTERED, BUT DID NOT BLOW OUT, AND NO LOSS OF CABIN PRESSURE OCCURRED. WE IMMEDIATELY ACCOMPLISHED EMER DSCNT PROC TO 10000 FT MSL. UPON FURTHER EXAMINATION IT APPEARED THAT THE OUTER PANE OF THE CAPT'S WINDSHIELD WAS SHATTERED, AND THE INNER ONE WAS STILL INTACT. AT THIS TIME WE MADE THE DECISION TO DIVERT TO MCO. AN UNEVENTFUL APCH AND LNDG WAS MADE AT MCO.
