Narrative:

Location, 120 mi east of mkc VOR. Cruising at FL330 ZKC gave descent clearance to FL290. Set FL290 in altitude window and first officer started descent. During descent altitude select knob must have gotten bumped and FL270 got set in window. At about FL275 center asked what altitude we were going to and we replied FL270. Center said we were only cleared to FL290 and to continue descent to FL270. We were told there were no traffic conflicts or other aircraft in our area. I, the captain was busy with non flying duties and looking back I should have been monitoring descent more closely.
