Narrative:
Climbing through 11000 ft, we noticed the target on TCASII. It was initially 500 ft below and about 2 mi at our 3-4 O'clock position. The TCASII system gave an alert. I queried the controller about the traffic as I made visual contact and pointed the challenger out to the captain. ATC advised us to expedite to 12000 ft. While we began a turn to the left, ATC advised the same action. A major contributing factor was the use of 2 ATC frequencys for the same airspace. Supplemental information from acn 402117: the first officer saw the blue and white challenger and asked ATC if he was working the traffic. At this time the PF was turning left to avoid the conflict. ATC then told us to turn left immediately. PF asked if he was talking to the traffic, he stated, 'no, but the guy next to me is.'
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: E120 CLBING OUT FROM DFW SIGHTS TFC ON TCASII BEHIND AND BELOW AND QUESTIONS CTLR. CTLR STATES THE TFC WAS BEING WORKED BY ANOTHER CTLR NEXT TO HIM. THE E120 CREW THEN SPOTTED A BLUE AND WHITE CL601 VERY CLOSE, RECEIVED A TCASII RA, AND TOOK EVASIVE ACTION.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 402117: THE FO SAW THE BLUE AND WHITE CHALLENGER AND ASKED ATC IF HE WAS WORKING THE TFC. AT THIS TIME THE PF WAS TURNING L TO AVOID THE CONFLICT. ATC THEN TOLD US TO TURN L IMMEDIATELY. PF ASKED IF HE WAS TALKING TO THE TFC, HE STATED, 'NO, BUT THE GUY NEXT TO ME IS.'
