Narrative:
While en route to helicopter base I called jax approach on 2 different frequencys for radar advisories but did not receive any reply. I climbed above 2600 ft MSL to go over the top of nzc class D airspace. Approximately 3 NM north of nzc I had a near miss with a flight of 2 FA18 hornets. These aircraft were in a tight formation in what appeared to be a climbing left turn.

Title: NMAC BTWN THE RPTR IN AN SMA HELI IN LEVEL FLT OVER THE TOP, AND APPROX 3 MI AWAY FROM A CLASS D MIL BASE AIRSPACE AND A FLT OF 2 F18 MIL HORNETS IN A CLBING L TURN. THERE WAS NO TIME FOR THE RPTR TO TAKE EVASIVE ACTION.
