Narrative:

While flying over a small body of water, the pilot attempted a splash and dash (a maneuver where the balloon descends to the water surface, skims the water, and lifts off). On contact with the water, passenger panicked and exited basket. Passenger swam to shore. Pilot landed balloon safely in nearby field. To prevent a recurrence, passenger should be briefed more thoroughly on planned maneuvers to prevent panic.
