Narrative:

While on a vector to sdf at 5000 ft, IFR flight plan, assigned heading of 180 degrees, an A36 straight tail bonanza passed in front of me on a level northeast heading about 500 ft from right to left. I notified sdf approach of the near miss. The controller advised she had a primary target only at my 7-8 O'clock position. She gave me a phone number to call when I got on the ground (ATC supervisor). I gave him a complete report.
