Narrative:
During the climb (about FL180) the #2 'B' system hydraulic low pressure light illuminated. The circuit breaker was recycled but light stayed on. At this point the quantity was noted to be '0' and the required checklists read. ATC was notified of our intention to return to stl and vectored us to vandalia VOR and the arrival to stl. Passenger, cabin attendants and company were notified. We requested runway 30L because of the length and the fact that the 'B' system is primary source of brake pressure. Approach, landing, and taxi in normal. Cause was the failure of the studs holding the 'B' pump motor to the pump and allowing fluid to escape.
