Narrative:
Landed runway 2R at pdk. Exited runway and tower cleared us to cross runway 2L to ramp and at that time the gear up warning horn started honking (due to a shift in micro-switch while taxiing later found out), so crossed runway 2L to ramp which is adjacent to where I exited runway 2R and crossed runway 2L. There is a taxiway which runs in front of FBO ramp, but I did not contact ground since I understood to taxi to ramp. Horn was still honking. FBO said ground was trying to contact me. I called tower to clarify with horn still honking. Tower said no problem, they would straighten ground out, that they had said to ramp as I repeated my understanding of their instructions on my call back with horn honking. No conflicts or problems resulted, unless ground thought I should have called them upon crossing runway 2L.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: PVT PLT OF A C210 FAILED TO CONTACT GND CTL DURING TAXI TO PARKING AFTER LNDG. PLT WAS GIVEN CLRNC BY LCL CTL AFTER LNDG BUT SUBSEQUENTLY FAILED TO GUARD GND CTL DUE TO THE LNDG GEAR WARNING HORN SOUNDING DURING TAXI.
Narrative: LANDED RWY 2R AT PDK. EXITED RWY AND TWR CLRED US TO CROSS RWY 2L TO RAMP AND AT THAT TIME THE GEAR UP WARNING HORN STARTED HONKING (DUE TO A SHIFT IN MICRO-SWITCH WHILE TAXIING LATER FOUND OUT), SO CROSSED RWY 2L TO RAMP WHICH IS ADJACENT TO WHERE I EXITED RWY 2R AND CROSSED RWY 2L. THERE IS A TXWY WHICH RUNS IN FRONT OF FBO RAMP, BUT I DID NOT CONTACT GND SINCE I UNDERSTOOD TO TAXI TO RAMP. HORN WAS STILL HONKING. FBO SAID GND WAS TRYING TO CONTACT ME. I CALLED TWR TO CLARIFY WITH HORN STILL HONKING. TWR SAID NO PROB, THEY WOULD STRAIGHTEN GND OUT, THAT THEY HAD SAID TO RAMP AS I REPEATED MY UNDERSTANDING OF THEIR INSTRUCTIONS ON MY CALL BACK WITH HORN HONKING. NO CONFLICTS OR PROBS RESULTED, UNLESS GND THOUGHT I SHOULD HAVE CALLED THEM UPON XING RWY 2L.
